I think the book, the Shaman's Nephew, is a good book. I learned a bit more of how they lived long ago, the Inuit way.

It's sad that the Inuit long ago had to leave the land and live in the settlements. Maybe some of the Inuit were happy to live in the settlements and maybe most of them were unhappy. I'm happy that I don't have to live the Inuit way, but it's good to out on the land once in a while and it's good to know about long ago.

Simon Tookoome's drawings are strange, but neat. A lot of his stories are about how the Inuit were. For example, the Inuit don't like eating alone, they only kill animals when they need it and the naming. Many of the Inuit are still like that.

Today, a lot of children and young people mostly speak in English. I think we young Inuit should be taught more about Inuit of long ago, especially how to speak more Inuktitut. It would be good to keep out Inuit culture.
